Natural Reflexes

Training Courses in Natural Reflex Therapy® (NRT).

Each Natural Reflex Therapy course provides the foundations necessary for using comfortable positions to relieve pain. Positioning Release techniques are the perfect compliment to any Massage Therapist or Bodyworker interested in being more sucessful at relieving acute and chronic pain. Students will learn the key principles and protocols, specific tender points, and standard positions that are necessary for effective treatment.

Releasing pain through positioning is an effective, safe and gentle advanced massage technique. These techniques are based on a tradition that includes: Cranial Osteopathy, Chapman's Reflexes, Functional Technique, Strain-Counterstrain®, Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, Ortho-Bionomy®, and Positional Release Therapy.

NRT I: Spontaneous Release by Positioning (Spine)Barry showing a shoulder point and release.
This Natural Reflex Therapy course will provide a foundation for using comfortable positions to relieve pain. We will explore the use of positions to release pain and dysfunction to muscles, bones and joints. Students will learn the key principles and protocols, specific tender points, and standard positions that are necessary for effective treatment.

This advanced massage training will focus on using positions for
the spine including neck, back, pelvis and ribs. Students will learn how to use specific tender points and body positions for these areas and how to use positions for common complaints holistically. The class will include discussion of the relationship of structure and function and the neurological reflexes that are stimulated by comfortable positions. There will be a number of exercises to increase the skills necessary to feel and observe the body's response to comfortable positioning.

We will discuss how NRT techniques can be integrated into massage other health and healing modalities or used as a stand-alone therapy. Participants will be shown proper body mechanics for using positioning techniques and how protect their hands and thumbs using this work.
